Joe Forma
Today
marks the first day of the early goose season and the
beginning of the 2011 hunt . Bob
and Don Keicher invited me to
join them again this year for the
opening day at Pete Wilson's pond.
Young Andy Wilson had monitored the geese activity and reported the
birds would return to the water
after feeding at 10:00am. At 9:59-30 we heard the first honk and here they came.
There were about
75 birds using the pond and over
the next 1/2 hour they all returned.
19 stayed. I chose not to gun but shoot the geese with my CANON cameras
and so I did really enjoyed the AM!
The crew included Bob, Don,
Will
Elliott and some of the other regulars. Young Andy served as our
retriever and did a great job. That was a poignant reminder of all the
opening days with 'my Andy'
shooting the geese! Attached are few pix.
I
had hoped for some more explicit pix but the shooting was so fast and furious
and over so quickly I didn't get
into the rhythm fast enough. oh well!
